The British Columbia Conservation Foundation (BCCF) is seeking an entry-level dynamo to fill the position of Junior Accounting Clerk. Our successful candidate will bring a detailed eye and a strong work ethic to this administrative support position. The ideal candidate holds a willingness to learn, adapt, respond quickly and prioritize effectively while consistently maintaining a high standard of accuracy in every task. The successful applicant will bring a no-job-is-too-small attitude to this part-time position with the knowledge that there is much room for growth and advancement.
This position, based in our Surrey office, will primarily provide support to our Accounting Coordinator. The ideal candidate will also support the Payroll office on an as-required basis and assist our team of project managers when needed. Working with our senior admin staff, the Junior Accounting Clerk will manage office supplies, conduct filing, review expense files for data input and/or filing errors, and, as directed by the accounting and payroll departments, enter data into a SAGE 300 ERP system. The Junior Accounting Clerk will report directly to our Executive Director.
Tasks of the Junior Accounting Clerk include:
Support the Accounting Coordinator
- Create standardized electronic and hardcopy files
- Sort, review and maintain expense files
- Code expense invoices for processing
- Enter AP and AR data into Sage 300 ERP system as directed
- Track donations and program-based tuitions using Excel spreadsheets
- Use and maintain postage machine, copier and other office equipment
- Assist in various AP and AR tasks as needed
Support the Payroll Coordinator
- Partner with Payroll Coordinator to review biweekly payroll for data entry errors
- Create and maintain employee personnel files
- Enter data into Sage 300 ERP system as directed
Support the Project Managers
- File hard copy expense receipts
- Audit expense files in preparation for year end
- Schedule interviews as directed
Other Duties as required
- Issue and track field equipment as required by the Safety Coordinator
- Provide assistance in reception
- Handle mail and courier
- Maintain operations of Head office through various administrative duties
- Perform other clerical or regional office tasks as assigned by the Executive Director
- Experience in Accounts Payable data entry (Sage familiarity an asset)
- Experience in General Ledger accounting (Sage familiarity an asset)
- Demonstrated proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, specifically Excel (see *note), Word, Outlook and Access
- Sound knowledge of accounting procedures
- Experience in dealing with suppliers
- High levels of accuracy and attention to detail

Successful candidate will work from our Surrey Office. Candidate must live within a reasonable commute. BCCF will not pay relocation expenses.
Hours: 3 days per week to start, 7.5 hours per day (45 hours biweekly), scheduling will depending on availability

Wage: $20.00 per hour
