

Administrative Assistant (22.5 hours/week)
British Columbia Conservation Foundation is a value-based enterprising non-profit charity. We promote the conservation of fish and wildlife in the Province of British Columbia through the protection, acquisition and enhancement of fish and wildlife populations.
BC Conservation Foundation is seeking a motivated, organized and detail oriented individual to work as part of our administrative team and provide support to our Vancouver Island Regional Coordinator and Fisheries Team. Based out of our BC Conservation Foundation Regional Office in Nanaimo, BC our ideal candidate brings a positive attitude and displays excellent communication skills. S/he/they are passionate about conservation, possess a willingness to learn attitude and a focused approach to completing day-to-day tasks.
Start date: as early as September 2023
Hours of work: 8:30 am to 4:30pm (22.5 hours /week)
Pay rate: $20-$22/hour depending on experience
Report to: Vancouver Island Regional Coordinator (based in Surrey, BC)
Location of work: Vancouver Island Regional Office, Nanaimo, BC
Closing Date: September 8th, 2023 (end of day)
Position Responsibilities
- Act as a communications bridge between Nanaimo staff and the Regional Coordinator (based in Surrey, BC).
- Conduct various administrative functions as required including incoming emails, mail, deliveries and answering telephone calls.
- Collect, prepare and code receipts, invoices, and expense claims for submission to the Regional Coordinator.
- Collect/track/follow up on documentation (contracts, reports and invoicing).
- Assist with bi-weekly payroll.
- Data entry – update records with personnel, financial and project data.
- Track, monitor and submit monthly truck and boat usage logs for internal invoicing.
- Maintain stationary, office and general supplies.
- Assist with inventory.
- Create and maintain an efficient file system.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 6 months experience in an Administrative role.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Experience using MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access) in a work setting.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
