O’Grady – Cunliffe Property

The presence of grassland, forest and riparian habitats provide the physical attributes that create an ideal environment for wildlife, especially ungulates, on this property.  The property is defined as class 1 and 2 winter range for elk, Mule deer and White-tailed deer.

The woodlot contains a small marsh along the northern boundary which supports the blue-listed Painted turtle. A small lake occurs along the northwest boundary of the woodlot creating valuable habitat for insects, amphibians, and birds. Valuable riparian habitat also provides shelter, forage, and nesting sites for birds, small mammals and bats.

Wildlife values are enhanced by the movement of large ungulates particularly the Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep.
