12.1 Policy
The British Columbia Conservation Foundation is committed to maintaining a healthy and safe work environment. Contractors are expected to meet legislated health and safety requirements and ensure all workplace hazards are effectively controlled.
Key Definitions
Contractor: A person, partnership or group of persons who, through an agreed contract, direct the activities of one or more workers involved in work on behalf of the BC Conservation Foundation.
12.2 Responsibilities
Management
- Only allow qualified contractors to complete work on behalf of the BC Conservation Foundation.
- Ensure a WorkSafeBC clearance letter is acquired.
Contractor
- Comply with all health and safety requirements prescribed in the Workers Compensation Act and Occupational Health and Safety Regulation.
- Maintain good standing with WorkSafeBC.
