12.1 Policy

The British Columbia Conservation Foundation is committed to maintaining a healthy and safe work environment. Contractors are expected to meet legislated health and safety requirements and ensure all workplace hazards are effectively controlled.

Key Definitions

Contractor: A person, partnership or group of persons who, through an agreed contract, direct the activities of one or more workers involved in work on behalf of the BC Conservation Foundation.

12.2 Responsibilities


  • Only allow qualified contractors to complete work on behalf of the BC Conservation Foundation.
  • Ensure a WorkSafeBC clearance letter is acquired.


  • Comply with all health and safety requirements prescribed in the Workers Compensation Act and Occupational Health and Safety Regulation.
  • Maintain good standing with WorkSafeBC.
