What we do

The BCCF is a not-for-profit society and federally registered charity, dedicated to the conservation and stewardship of British's Columbia's ecosystems and species.

The care and commitment that the BCCF provides to BC's ecosystems and species is of paramount importance, but, it would be difficult to support without your generous, tax deductible to the Land for Wildlife Fund.

Farmers in wintering areas often lose one cut of hay to elk, mule deer or geese. Opportunites exist to rent migration corridors from landowners using conservation covenants. This provides some income for the landowner while ensuring wildlife values is considered.

Wildlife trees on private property are often harvested for firewood, but they could be purchased for theirvalue as wood and thereby left standing to meet the needs of wildlife. Large tracts of land often become available for purchase, using partner dollars, thus ensuring that the values found on those lands are kept for future generations.

The Land for Wildlife was created to address some of these issues.
